Purple Sweet Potato Glutinous Rice Tea Towel Twist
Overview
Tea towel twist is a Japanese-style tea snack. A tea towel refers to the linen cloth used to wipe the edge of the tea bowl during the tea ceremony, but in Japanese cuisine, it generally refers to food wrapped in a tea towel. Of course, now we basically use plastic wrap instead in home production. Tea towel twists are simple and convenient to make. There is no need to bake them. Just wrap the stuffing with the selected skin, wrap it with plastic wrap and twist it. This tea towel twist uses purple sweet potato to wrap the glutinous rice filling. The softness of the purple sweet potato is combined with the stickiness of the glutinous rice. It is very sweet and delicious, sweet but not greasy, soft and fragrant. The slight bitterness of the tea and the sweetness of the refreshments hit the tip of the tongue, creating an endless aftertaste. It's a great choice to accompany afternoon tea.

Steps
-
Soak the glutinous rice for a few hours in advance, or overnight. Put it into a rice cooker and add water to cook (reduce the amount of rice cooked by half than usual, no more than glutinous rice). After cooking, add sugar and mix well.
-
Wash and peel the purple sweet potatoes, cut them into pieces, and steam them in a steamer over water (or boil them directly in water, then peel them after cooking).
-
Steam until soft and can be easily inserted with a spoon.
-
Press the steamed purple sweet potatoes into puree. It is more convenient to use a potato press.
-
Add a spoonful of honey to increase the sweetness and moistness of the purple sweet potatoes. Can also be omitted.
-
Press until the purple sweet potato completely turns into purple sweet potato puree, which is very smooth.
-
Take a piece of plastic wrap, put a spoonful of purple potato puree on it, and press it into a round piece.
-
Take a ball of glutinous rice and place it in the middle.
-
Put your palm away, hold the glutinous rice ball with your fingers and stuff it into the tiger's mouth.
-
The tiger's mouth closed.
-
Pinch the top of the plastic wrap and twist. For a beautiful texture, you can twist it a few more times.
-
Peel off the plastic wrap, and the small, cute, soft and sweet tea towel twist has been made.
-
Looking inside, the perfect collision of purple and white, and the brushed glutinous rice are also very attractive.
-
Because purple sweet potatoes are relatively soft and easy to deform and fall off, if you need to carry them out or give them as gifts to relatives and friends, it is recommended to keep the plastic wrap and do not open them. You can also wrap a circle of transparent tape on top to secure it.
