Fried sesame leaves

Overview

Fried sesame leaves are a traditional snack characteristic of some areas in northern China. They are a repertoire of Chinese New Year and are a snack during the Spring Festival. Ma Ye is made from fried noodles and has two flavors: salty and sweet. Salt or sugar is added when mixing the noodles. The prepared hemp leaves are called hemp leaves because they look like leaves and are covered with sesame seeds. Hemp leaves can be made into snacks and are also an essential dish to accompany wine on the family table during the Chinese New Year.
