Coconut Braided Bread
Overview
I just love the fragrance of coconut, so I will make a few every other week, and the whole family will be fascinated by the aroma of coconut that fills the house. Just a cup of milk or a bowl of multigrain porridge for breakfast will be very satisfying.

Steps
-
Except for butter, put the bread ingredients into the bread bucket in order of liquid first and then solid. Salt and sugar should be placed diagonally. Finally, bury the yeast into the flour.
-
Select two dough kneading programs, put in the softened butter at room temperature, and continue kneading the dough while selecting two dough kneading programs.
-
The dough at this time is smooth and delicate. Select the fermentation key to ferment.
-
You can make coconut paste. After the butter has softened, add the sugar and mix well. Add egg mixture and coconut. Reserve a little of the egg liquid for brushing the bread at the end. Stir thoroughly until coconut becomes a mass.
-
The fermentation time is about an hour, and the dough has doubled in size.
-
Dip your fingers in flour and press the dough until the hole does not shrink or sink.
-
Use a rolling pin to deflate the dough and roll it into a round shape.
-
Divide the dough into two pieces, cover with plastic wrap and rest for 15 minutes.
-
Divide one of the dough pieces into three smaller pieces again. Roll out small pieces of dough into oval shapes.
-
Spread an even layer of coconut filling.
-
Roll up from one side into a strip.
-
The other two small pieces of dough are also rolled into strips. Heads meet.
-
Braid it into a braid and press the tail tightly.
-
Another way of weaving. Roll the dough into a large rectangle.
-
Spread an even layer of coconut filling.
-
Roll up from one side into a strip. All interfaces are pressed tightly.
-
Use a knife to cut the strip of dough from the head. Note: Do not cut off the head. Just like the picture. Braid the two cut braids over each other. (I didn’t take pictures at this step. My hands were oily and I couldn’t take pictures)
-
After braiding the braided bread dough, place it on the baking sheet. Preheat the oven for one minute, put the baking sheet into the oven, and then add a bowl of boiling water for secondary fermentation. Hair until doubled in size.
-
Remove the egg wash.
-
Bake in the oven at 175 degrees, with upper and lower heat on the middle shelf, for 25 minutes. The room is filled with fragrance, making my mouth water.
