  1. Fresh edamame

  2. Pick all the edamame beans and wash them

  3. Cut off both ends of washed edamame for easy flavoring

  4. Pour water into the pot slightly more than the edamame and add 2 tablespoons of salt

  5. Add star anise and Sichuan peppercorns

  7. Bring to a boil, then turn to low heat and simmer for 20 minutes
