Grilled Pork Chops

Grilled Pork Chops

Overview

I have made Japanese pork cutlet rice before. This time I was lazy and didn’t bother making Japanese style food. Grilled directly. It’s also good to eat with rice. The key is less oil. It’s healthier to not have to wash the pot

Steps

  1. pork tenderloin strips are about 1 pound. There are supermarkets. Rinse with water and drain. Place the meat strips on the cutting board and use the back of the carving knife to loosen and flatten the strips of meat in the same direction. Don't use too much force to prevent it from turning into minced meat.

  2. When the pat is almost done, pat the meat slices with the flat side of the knife. Pat one side and flatten the other side. Just pat the meat strips until they are only 1 cm thick (at this time, it looks like a pork chop but it is actually a tenderloin steak. The tenderloin is relatively tender. The pork chop is too old)

  3. Once you take a picture of such a flat piece of tenderloin steak, it’s ready

  4. Prepare a packet of McCormick fried pork cutlet powder. Pour into a plate and prepare to marinate the pork chops

    Grilled Pork Chops step 4
  5. Spread the fried pork cutlet powder evenly on both sides. Then leave it for 30 minutes, of course it doesn’t matter if you don’t wait for 30 minutes

  6. Cut 3 slices of ginger. Cut half an onion into small cubes.

  7. Cut the pork tenderloin into strips of your preferred width. Because the juice will flow out when grilled. If you cut it after it's cooked, it will get everywhere. It’s better to cut it first

    Grilled Pork Chops step 7
  8. Place the cut rows of barcodes on a baking sheet lined with foil. Roll the tin foil around with your hands to make it look like a tin foil box. This is to prevent the meat juices from flowing outside the tin foil after grilling

  9. Sprinkle some more salt on the strips. Because the pork chop powder is not salty enough. Then use a brush to brush some olive oil on the strips. Mainly because the steaks are all lean meat and would be too dry if grilled directly

  10. After applying oil, pour some very fresh soy sauce on the strips. Mainly to increase its umami flavor and make it richer. (Of course, the salt and soy sauce can be added after the steaks are lined up and then dipped in pork chop powder before grilling. This step is because it is my first time to make grilled pork chops. So I added them as I thought.) Sprinkle the onions and add 3 slices of ginger.

  11. Cover the meat with another layer of tin foil. Wrap it up. This way the meat will be more tender when grilled. (If you want the skin to be crispy, just apply more oil and bake the top layer without covering it with tin foil.) Place in the middle rack of the oven. The upper temperature is 160 and the lower temperature is 160. Just 25 minutes

  12. When it's time, take out the baking sheet. Open the tin foil lid. That fragrance. Not much juice though. Then load it

  13. Plate. Love ketchup so I squeezed in some for garnish. The taste is very refreshing. If you don’t like it, don’t add
