Baum Ring Crispy Pancake
Overview
I really like the texture of Baumkuchen, so I tried to make a Baumkuchen cake (from my own recipe). The finished product has clear texture of tree rings, golden color, crispy layers, and a crispy texture that is hard to put down.

Ingredients
Steps
-
Add salt to the flour and mix evenly, add melted lard and knead into a pastry. When the pastry is completed, cover it with film.
-
Make water-oil dough: add sugar to flour (mix well first), then add lard and warm water and mix to form a soft dough for fermentation.
-
Fermented dough.
-
Take it out and knead it on a chopping board until even.
-
Divide the pastry into 3 equal portions (you can also add a little less pastry).
-
Divide the water-oil dough into 3 equal amounts of dough and knead evenly, then take 1 dough and roll it into a round shape, put the pastry bag into it and close it at the bottom.
-
Wrap 3 pieces of water-oil dough into puff pastry respectively.
-
Take out 1 bun, flatten it gently with your hands, then use a rolling pin to gently press it horizontally and then vertically (this way the pastry will not leak out easily).
-
Gently roll into a rectangular shape.
-
Fold evenly into thirds.
-
Fold it like this.
-
Then still use the rolling pin method.
-
Roll into a roll from one side.
-
Roll it into a layered roll shape, and the layers can be seen to be even and clear.
-
Make the 3 ingredients in sequence.
-
Standing up, the layered texture is clear and even.
-
Cut one roll into two pieces and divide it into 3 rolls of even thickness (then cover and relax).
-
Just flatten each dough by gently pressing it with your hands. The electric baking pan has a preheating function. After preheating, add an appropriate amount of cooking oil to the pan. Put the annual ring crispy cake base into the pan. Turn it over and bake until it turns golden brown on both sides. Then bake other cake bases (according to the height in the pot).
-
The finished product of the annual ring crispy cake is taken out and put on a plate. It is very beautiful, golden in color, clear in texture, crispy and delicious (the first time I tried it, it looked beautiful and tasted quite good, so I ate it at once).
-
This annual ring crispy pancake is self-recipe, with layers upon layers of crispy aroma and no residue (due to slight differences in the colors of the lights in the kitchen and the living room).
-
This annual ring crispy cake tastes more fragrant and soft when eaten after it is cooled.
