Overview

The box of glutinous rice dumplings given out by my work unit for the Lantern Festival could never be wiped out. They were too sweet to eat when boiled, so I had a sudden idea to wrap them in a golden coat. They are also soft and waxy, adding flavor and color. The most important thing is that it can reduce the sweetness of the glutinous rice balls.

  1. Peel the skin off the cooked sweet potatoes.

  2. Crush the sweet potatoes into puree, add glutinous rice flour and mix into a dough.

  3. Grab a piece of dough larger than a glutinous rice ball and flatten it. The thickness is up to your preference.

  4. Wrap in glutinous rice balls.

  5. Brush a little oil, place into a paper cake mold, heat water in a pot and steam over high heat for about ten minutes until mature.

  6. Bite it open and take a look. Even with a layer of coating, the filling is still so big. QQ’s is so delicious!
