  1. Chop the pork ribs into pieces, wash and drain, and set aside.

  2. Wash and cut kelp into pieces.

  3. Heat oil in pan and add ribs.

  4. Stir-fry until the ribs change color.

  5. Add onion and ginger segments and stir-fry until fragrant.

  6. Add soy sauce and Maggi and stir-fry until fragrant.

  7. Add water, star anise, cinnamon, salt and sugar and stir-fry evenly.

  8. Bring to a boil over high heat, cover and simmer for 50 minutes.

  9. Add kelp, cover and simmer for 30 minutes, then turn off the heat.
