Xiaobaitiao is a pure wild small miscellaneous fish found in various waters all over the country. They are small in size and taste best when fried or grilled in sauce.

Remove the head and internal organs of the white striped fish and rinse in salt water. Drain the water, marinate the onions, ginger, cooking wine, salt, five-spice powder, and white pepper for half an hour.

Pick up the onion and ginger and drain the water. Roll the small fish in dry flour and shake it loose. Fry in oil pan over medium heat until golden brown, then fry again until crispy.

Take out of the pan and sprinkle some chili powder on a plate.
