Sweet rice
Overview
In my hometown of Fuping, Shaanxi, sweet rice is always served to guests during the Chinese New Year or during weddings and funerals. Maybe many people have never eaten it, right? I can’t go back to my hometown for the New Year this year. I suddenly miss the sweet rice from my hometown. I miss the aroma of glutinous rice mixed with dates. It’s fragrant, just like steamer cakes. I can never resist the temptation of that fragrant smell. Now I'm going to make a bowl. The recipe is slightly different from the one from my hometown, but it still tastes like the sweet rice from my hometown. I miss it. . . . .

Ingredients
Steps
-
Wash the glutinous rice, pour it into the rice cooker, and add water (the ratio of rice to water is 1:1.2). In order to make the rice taste sweeter, you can add some sugar to the water, turn on the switch, and wait for ten minutes until it automatically jumps to the gear.
-
Wash and cut the red dates, wash the raisins, cut the sausage into small pieces, wash the bowl, and apply a little oil inside to prevent the rice from sticking until the evening.
-
Start at the bottom, and you can do whatever you like. Then spread a thin layer of glutinous rice, then dates, raisins and sausages, just like this, layer by layer. Of course, the more layers you layer, the better. The more dates you can, the more fragrant it is. The sweet rice mainly has the flavor of dates, and you can mix it with anything else.
-
Add an appropriate amount of water to the steamer and bring it to a boil. Put the rice bowl into it and steam it over medium heat for 20 minutes
-
After steaming, let it cool for a while, then turn the bowl upside down on the plate, and the sweet rice will fall onto the plate intact (because it was coated with a layer of oil before). Then sprinkle some sugar and honey on it, and you are ready to eat. This is how it is eaten in my hometown. As for the ingredients, you can freely use them to make the combination look better and more delicious!
