Date flower cake
Overview
Zaohua cake is a steamed bun made of white flour, but it is different from the usual ones. It is a steamed bun with many red dates embedded in it. When it is done, it looks as beautiful as a flower. It is usually steamed during the Chinese New Year.

The dough making process is the same as usual for steamed steamed buns, just a little harder.

Boil the red dates in boiling water. Remove and drain.

Take a piece of dough, roll it into a round cake as the base, make it slightly thicker, and sprinkle some dry flour on the bottom.

Take another piece of dough, roll it into a wide piece, cut it into finger-thick strips with a knife and press it into patterns.

Roll a red date with noodles to make a small date flower.

The small jujube flowers are placed on the periphery of the dough piece, and the middle of the small jujube flowers is separated by red dates, and the hollow center is filled with red dates.

Roll out another slightly smaller round dough piece and place it on top, and then stack it layer by layer.

Finally, put a small date flower in the center of the top. Wake up for about ten minutes, then steam in a steamer for about 30 minutes until cooked.
