Cocoa flower roll
Overview
I steamed the Hanamaki for the first time after the Chinese New Year. I originally wanted to make a hedgehog bun with light cocoa powder dough. As a mother with children, I don’t have my own time. Every time I make these, I have to play with the dough. I decided to make Hanamaki at the last minute. After all, it’s fast! Roll it out, roll it, cut it, press it, and it’s ready in no time. It came out pretty good, better than I expected, and very soft. Before taking pictures, Niu and I finished each one first!

Ingredients
Steps
-
Put milk, flour, sugar, and yeast into the bread bucket in sequence, and select a program to knead the dough.
-
Take out the mixed dough and knead it evenly, then place it in a container and cover it with plastic wrap to ferment at room temperature. (You can also ferment directly in the bread barrel without taking it out)
-
The fermented dough is kneaded and deflated.
-
Roll out the dough into a rectangular shape, as thick or thin as you like, and sprinkle with a little salt.
-
Brush a layer of cooked oil and pat evenly.
-
Roll into a roll from bottom to top.
-
Cut into triangles.
-
Use chopsticks to press down from the tip of the triangle to form a flower roll.
-
Place the raw Hanamaki into a cage covered with damp cloth.
-
Put warm water at the bottom of the pot, and the second hair roll will become larger and lighter.
-
Steam over high heat. After boiling over medium-high heat, turn to medium-low heat for 12 minutes and turn off the heat. Turn off the heat and steam for 5 minutes before opening the lid. The slightly sweet cocoa flower rolls are ready. Do you want to try them? (False steaming means turning off the heat without opening the lid. If you lift the lid immediately, the Hanaki will shrink back into the face of an old lady when it gets cold, so you have to wait a few minutes before taking off the lid)
