Sweet potato glutinous rice cake soup
Overview
Before the Spring Festival, a souvenir from the master of the Haodou recipe, a Hunan specialty, included a bag of glutinous rice cakes. Coming from a small northern town, this was the first time I saw this stuff. The instructions on the back said it could be fried, pan-fried or boiled, so I took out half of it and cooked it with a few small sweet potatoes at home. It was sticky and glutinous, and paired with the sweet soup, it was very delicious!

Wash and peel the small sweet potatoes.

Cut into hob pieces.

Add water and rock sugar to the pot together with the washed red dates and cook together.

Cook until the red color changes and becomes cooked.

Then add glutinous rice cake and cook till soft.
