Sweet and sour pork ribs paired with soft and glutinous yam is my family’s favorite, and it’s absolutely no problem to entertain guests!

  1. Chop the ribs into small pieces and soak them for half an hour to remove the blood and drain them.

  3. Peel the yam, cut into pieces and soak in water to prevent it from turning black.

  4. Peel the tomatoes and cut into small cubes

  5. Cut the onions into sections, slice the ginger, wash the aniseed, garlic, bay leaves, and cinnamon and put them on a plate.

  6. Put the same amount of oil in the pot as usual for cooking and stir-fry the ribs.

  7. It can be taken out when it becomes slightly browned. (The light of my range hood is yellow, so the photos taken are brighter, but in fact the ribs are not that red.)

  8. Stir-fry all the spices in the oil at the bottom of the pan.

  9. Add tomato cubes and fry until mashed.

  10. Add tomato paste and stir well.

  11. Add appropriate amounts of sugar, vinegar, and salt according to personal taste. Just taste the soup for sweetness and sourness.

  12. Add the stir-fried pork ribs and stir-fry evenly, transfer to the electric pressure cooker and simmer for 20-30 minutes. After deflating, add the yam cubes and simmer for about 5 minutes before serving.

  13. Serve it out and start eating~~ (Here’s a close-up, because the color is different from the color in the pot due to the lighting.)
