Sautéed Bean Backbone
Overview
Stewed vegetables are a home-cooked dish in the Northeast, and stewed backbone with beans is a common dish in my family. I usually add a little bean paste, so that not only the soup is thick, but also the sauce is rich in flavor.

Wash the green beans and cut them into sections.

There is no need to put oil in the pot. Fry the beans over medium-low heat to remove some of the water, then transfer the beans to a plate. Pour oil into the pot, add five-spice powder, green onions, and ginger and stir-fry until fragrant. Add the beans and stir-fry.

Then add the pork ribs and stir-fry.

Add bean paste and stir-fry.

Pour in soy sauce and light soy sauce and stir-fry.

Pour in boiling water, bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to medium to low heat and simmer for 25-30 minutes.
