Prepare the raw materials as shown in the figure

Onion, ginger, garlic, dried chili, cut into sections

Drain the hairtail fish segments and sprinkle with flour

Heat the oil, put the hairtail segments into the oil pan and fry

Fry the hairtail fish until golden brown on both sides and remove from the pan

Pour oil into the pot, add onion, ginger, garlic, aniseed, and chili and saute until fragrant

Then pour the fried hairtail into the pot

Pour vinegar, soy sauce, and cooking wine into the pot in order to color the hairtail

Pour hot water to cover the hairtail, add sugar, salt and tomato paste, cover the pot and simmer over low heat for 20 minutes

When the soup thickens, it’s ready to serve
