Fried clams with old cucumber
Overview
Old cucumbers are grown in the idle vegetable plot of my husband's workplace. We went to pick them a lot this summer. This kind of cucumber is a fruit cucumber. It is best to eat it raw when it is small and tender. Once it grows up or gets old, no one wants it, but I like it. Because old cucumbers can be fried and eaten. They are not as sour as other old cucumbers, but they have a faint fragrance. They are used to stir-fry clams, and when combined with the clam soup, they are extremely delicious.
