Overview
When I was a child, every household would make braised eggs every Dragon Boat Festival, and the fragrant smell of braised eggs wafted over the countryside from morning to night. Ingredients
Steps
-
Wash the eggs, boil them in a pot with cold water and salt.
-
Soak the boiled eggs in cold water, let them cool, peel them, and then put them into the cooking pot.
-
Pour in beer, add bay leaves, star anise, cinnamon, and peppercorns.
-
Pour in rock sugar, light soy sauce and salt. (My family likes to eat lighter food, so I don’t add salt here anymore. Adding salt will make it more delicious)
-
Pour in the dark soy sauce and cook over high heat. After about five minutes, the eggs will turn a beautiful red sauce. After continuing to marinate for about ten minutes, remove from the heat and keep the eggs soaked in the marinade. Eat as you please. (You can eat it directly after doing this, but if you want to marinate it to the color of my marinade in the picture, it is best to soak it for more than 12 hours and then boil it over low heat. The taste will be richer)
