Walnut Shortbread
Overview
This walnut shortbread has extremely simple ingredients and no additives. Each biscuit is not only covered with chopped walnuts, but also studded with half a complete walnut, which is very nutritious. The brown sugar is accompanied by the crispy aroma of walnuts, which is extremely delicious.

Material preparation.

Cut the butter into small pieces, soften at room temperature, and sift in the brown sugar.

Beat the eggs with a whisk until fluffy.

Add the beaten eggs and continue beating with a whisk. Beat until fluffy and light.

Sift in the flour.

Use a rubber spatula to stir evenly until the flour and butter are completely combined into a batter. The batter may be very sticky at this point, making it difficult to shape. Place the batter in the refrigerator for about half an hour to make it dry and non-sticky.

Chop 40 grams of walnuts. Chop the walnut kernels as finely as possible.

Take out the chilled batter and shape it into a cylinder as shown in the picture.

Place the shaped cylindrical dough on the chopped walnut kernels, and roll so that the walnut kernels are coated on the surface of the dough. Place the wrapped dough into the freezer of the refrigerator and freeze for about an hour until the dough is frozen solid.

Take out the frozen dough and cut into 0.5CM thick slices.

Place the slices on a baking sheet and place 1 half of a whole walnut kernel in the center of each slice.

Place the baking sheet into the middle rack of a preheated 180°C oven, bake for about 10 minutes, take it out, brush a layer of honey on the surface of the walnuts, put it back into the oven and continue baking for about 8 minutes, until the dough turns brown and is ready to be baked.
