Wash the chicken and remove the butt.

Put the chicken in a basin, then add ginger, garlic, dried chili peppers, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, cooking wine, and sugar. Mix well to coat the chicken with the ingredients.

Put the chicken and marinade into a plastic bag, cover it in several layers, and tie it tightly. Refrigerate for a day, shaking a few times.

Add base oil to the rice cooker, add onions, ginger, garlic, dried chili peppers, star anise, and bay leaves. Take the chicken out of the refrigerator and put it into the rice cooker together with the marinade.
