Oil cake, a Shaanxi specialty snack. Xi'an's local oil cake is different from Sanyuan bubble oil cake. It is softer, waxier, crispier and incredibly delicious~

  1. Boil 750g of water.

  2. Add 500g of plain flour and mix well.

  3. Cover the pot and simmer for 5 minutes.

  5. Knead into a smooth dough and let it rest for 1 hour. At least an hour~

  6. This is the time to make the filling. Fry the raw flour, a little is enough, I used double the amount here.

  7. Add cooked sesame seeds, chopped walnuts, and white sugar, mix evenly to make a filling.
