Overview
Braised prawns in oil originated from Hubei Jianghan Oilfield (Wuqi District, Guanghua District, Qianjiang City). At first in Qianjiang, braised prawns were commonly known as Wuqi braised prawns. Later, with Qianjiang as the center, it gradually spread. It became famous in Jingzhou, Wuhan and even the entire Hubei region. It was called Qianjiang braised prawns and has now become a famous dish.
