  1. Wash the prepared hawthorns and drain them.

  2. Break off the tail and split it in two with a knife.

  3. Use the other end of the spoon to remove the core.

  4. Strung into skewers.

  5. Grease the baking pan and set aside.

  6. Add sugar and water to the pot and bring to a boil over medium heat.

  7. After boiling, simmer slowly over low heat.

  8. Dip a bamboo skewer into the syrup and drop it into cold water. If the sugar granules become hard, it means the syrup is ready; if the sugar granules are still soft, simmer for a while. (Novices can try a few more times to avoid overdoing it)

  9. Roll the skewers in the syrup and shake off the excess sugar.

  10. Make them one by one and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

  11. Let cool until the sugar hardens and you can eat it.
