Pure sweet cake is pure glutinous rice pulp and steamed with a lot of sugar. I remember my grandma made a several-pound stove for my cousin’s coming-of-age ceremony. She built a rough earth stove with bricks, prepared a large amount of wood, and had to get enough sleep a day in advance to complete it. Hehe, you may ask what this has to do with sleep, because it takes a day and a night to steam a liquid made from 20 pounds of glutinous rice mixed with rice milk and a large amount of sugar. Then it will take a few hours for it to cool completely. Sweet cakes can be eaten directly or dipped in egg liquid and deep-fried. Of course, Chaoshan people also love to use various kinds of cakes during various festivals. The size and importance of the festival determine the weight of the cakes. Going off topic, I also love glutinous food. However, occasionally I miss the glutinous texture and make small snacks to appease my greedy appetite. For lazy people, it is best to use a bread machine instead. Of course, what I made today is not the way I made it in my hometown. I added rice and subtracted sugar. There is no absolute ratio of glutinous rice to rice. It depends on what texture you like. If you don't like it sticky, you can increase the amount of rice. Water determines the softness and hardness of the glutinous rice cake. If you like it harder, you can reduce the amount of water.

Wash the glutinous rice and soak it for 2 hours.
