【Beijing】Peanut Chicken Feet Soup
Overview
During the Spring Festival, every place has different customs for the New Year's Eve dinner, and every family has a different saying, but the meaning of a good New Year is the same. For example, in our hometown in Inner Mongolia, tofu is an indispensable part of the New Year’s Eve dinner, which means full of blessings; fish means more than enough every year; a bowl of steamed meat will make it go well; at my mother’s house, we must steam steamed buns for lunch on the Spring Festival day, saying that steamed buns are good for making money this year. The other thing is that you have to eat paws. Pig paws and chicken paws are both must-have dishes. Pig paws (trotters) must also be particular, and they must be front hooves. The old man has a saying, saying that this is a rake for collecting money. Chicken paws can be made together regardless of the front and rear. Today, my mother will make a recipe for chicken feet. Let’s make a rake too. I wish us good fortune, good life, and sweetness in the new year!
