Two-color biscuits

Overview

Today I made another delicious cookie. This kind of cookie comes in original flavor and chocolate flavor. You can combine them and make different pattern cookies according to your own preferences. The whole process is like making plasticine works. It is very interesting. Let’s play together!

Steps

  1. As shown in the picture, the "main ingredients" are original dough ingredients.

  2. As shown in the picture, the “ingredients” are chocolate-flavored dough ingredients

  3. First, let's make the original part: beat 65 grams of butter with a manual egg beater. (There is no need to whisk here, so no electric egg beater is used)

  4. Add 60 grams of powdered sugar and continue stirring until the powdered sugar is completely incorporated into the butter.

  5. Add 30 grams of egg liquid in two batches. Each time, wait until the previous egg liquid is completely incorporated into the butter before adding the second time.

  6. Slowly sift 150 grams of low-gluten flour into the butter through a sieve. It is best to stir while sifting in, so that the butter and flour can be better integrated.

  7. Knead the initially mixed butter and flour into a dough with your hands

  8. There is no need to say much about making the chocolate flavor here. The method is exactly the same as the original flavor. Just sift in 135 grams of flour and then 15 grams of cocoa powder. Knead the dough as above. (As in the picture)

  9. Take equal portions of the two pieces of dough. Roll the original part into a 3 mm piece and cut off the excess part to make it into a rectangle. Also, roll out the chocolate-flavored dough like this. If the weather is very hot, put the rolled dough in the refrigerator for 20 minutes until the butter solidifies slightly before taking it out. This will make it easier to operate and will not stick everywhere.

  10. Stack the two doughs together and spread a little egg wash in the middle. And roll up the entire large dough sheet from the same side, and put it in the refrigerator for about half an hour to re-harden the butter inside. Then take it out and use a knife to cut it into sections with a thickness of about 3 mm.

  11. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees for five minutes, and bake up and down for about ten minutes, until the surface is golden brown.

  12. In addition, you can use molds to make various shapes according to your own creativity, and you can also use a fork to make holes in them. It is best to place a piece of parchment paper on the baking sheet before baking.
