Steps
-
Prepare all the materials as shown in the picture. What I made here is the amount of one pack of glutinous rice flour (500g), which can be made into two large pots. If there are fewer people, you can reduce the amount appropriately.
-
Cut the purple sweet potato and pumpkin into pieces and steam them for 15 minutes (I didn’t weigh the required amount, I just calculated it roughly. You can steam more pumpkin and purple sweet potato, and the extra can be eaten directly to make it very sweet)
-
Take an appropriate amount of purple sweet potato and press it into a puree with a spoon. Add white sugar and stir evenly. If the purple sweet potato puree is relatively dry, you can add some pure milk. Add a small amount first until it can be kneaded into a ball. If it is not dry, there is no need to add milk.
-
Add 1 package of glutinous rice flour and half a package of cornstarch into a basin and mix well. Add the steamed pumpkin while it is still hot. Stir with chopsticks first. When it is not hot enough, use your hands to form a dough.
-
Divide the pumpkin dough and purple sweet potato puree into equal small balls and roll them into balls with your hands. The purple potato balls are smaller than the pumpkin balls, so they are easier to wrap.
-
Take a piece of pumpkin dough and flatten it with your hands, put in the purple potato dough, then slowly tighten it with your tiger's mouth, and then roll it into a round shape with your hands.
-
Place the wrapped dough on the chopping board, take a toothpick and gently press the dough into symmetrical rice lines, and then use the toothpick to press down along the lines. The pumpkin patterns made by this method are more symmetrical, as shown in the upper right corner of the picture. Use a toothpick to press out a number of irregular lines from bottom to top. The pumpkin shape made by this method is more natural and lifelike. Finally, take a black raisin and put it on the dough to make a pumpkin stem, and the cute little pumpkin is ready!
-
Place the prepared small pumpkins on the corn coat and steam them over high heat for 15 minutes!

I looked at the cute little pumpkins and wanted to take a bite. The color combination was so beautiful and the taste was so good that I ate two of them in one go.
