birthday bread
Overview
On the road of baking, I met my husband’s birthday while making bread, so I personally made this birthday bread for my husband. I wish my dear a happy birthday! This bread uses two pieces of dough, A is the main dough and B is the decorative dough.

Steps
-
First prepare the main bread ingredient A, weigh it and have it ready. Set the butter in a warm place to room temperature to soften.
-
Except for butter, put the ingredients in picture 1 into a large basin, stir evenly, and knead into a dough. Move to a silicone mat to continue kneading.
-
Knead until large pieces of film can be pulled out, but are easily broken.
-
Add the softened butter and continue kneading and beating.
-
Knead until the dough is expanded, that is, by pulling off a small piece of dough, you can easily pull out the thin glove film without breaking it.
-
Knead the dough into a smooth dough, place it in a basin, wrap it in plastic wrap and ferment at room temperature for 8-12 hours.
-
Continue to prepare the ingredients for decorating dough B. Put all ingredients B into a basin and mix evenly.
-
Knead the decorative dough B into a smooth dough, put it into a plastic bag and refrigerate it for more than 2 hours, and set aside!
-
After refrigeration, the B dough becomes harder. Cut about half of it and roll it into a 0.3cm thick dough sheet. It is best to use a non-stick rolling pin with a silicone pad to make the dough evenly thin.
-
Find a round shape of suitable size, here I use a 6-inch removable bottom cake mold base, cut out a large round dough piece, place it on a metal flat plate and refrigerate until ready to use.
-
Divide the remaining dough into portions according to the coloring you want to add, and prepare for decorative shapes. Add coloring and knead the dough evenly, then keep it in the refrigerator for later use.
-
Take the relatively hard dough after refrigeration and roll it out into a large 0.2cm thick piece. Use the back of a large piping tip to cut out small circles and start making roses.
-
Take a small round piece and use the end of a chopstick to wrap it like the center of a flower. Take the round pieces one by one and gradually make a rose-shaped flower.
-
This is a small flower in the original color, you can also make roses in other colors.
-
Take another green dough and use a mold to press out some leaves of different sizes and set aside.
-
Take out the 6-inch large dough sheet from the refrigerator, place the prepared roses on the large dough sheet at will, and use red dough to form a long strip and place it to make decorative text. Place the leaves and arranged flowers in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
-
Next, continue the operation of main dough A. The fermented dough will be doubled in size.
-
Prepare the stuffing, roast the peanuts until fragrant and chop them into pieces, cut the sausage into thin slices, and prepare the floss.
-
Knead and deflate the fermented main dough.
-
Roll out the deflated dough into a large sheet and spread evenly chopped peanuts on top.
-
Then spread the small sausages evenly on top
-
Finally, spread a layer of meat floss. Since you eat it at home, it has plenty of fillings. You can also add any fillings you like.
-
Roll up the stuffed dough sheet and flatten it.
-
Gently roll it out with a rolling pin, transfer to aca pizza baking pan, arrange it into a round shape. As pictured!
-
Move to the oven for secondary fermentation. Put a bowl of hot water in the oven to maintain humidity.
-
The dough after the second fermentation has become full, brush a layer of whole egg liquid on top,
-
Take out the frozen flower dough and leaf dough and decorate them on the bread embryo after secondary fermentation. Decorate however you like!
-
Bake in preheated oven at 150 for 25-30 minutes. Take out of the oven and let cool!
-
Before putting it in the oven, I brushed it with another layer of egg wash, which made the flowers and leaves less colorful, but more like bread, so I decided for myself.
-
Final product picture! Doesn’t it look like a birthday cake? So call it birthday bread!
