Sweet potato balls with bean paste filling

Our family all likes street food, but we are worried about it being unhygienic. It’s easy to make our own!

One large sweet potato, cut into pieces and put in the pressure cooker

Cover and steam over high heat for 5 minutes

Braised

Peel the winter melon, add sugar and mash

Then add glutinous rice flour and knead evenly (the amount of glutinous rice flour should not be very sticky)

Knead into dough

Bean paste filling (see my recipe for Purple Potato Bean Paste Crisp)

Take a small amount of dough and make it into a round shape and flatten it

Take a little red bean paste and put it in
-
Form into a ball and roll in sesame seeds
-
Knead again (to embed the sesame seeds into the sweet potato balls so as not to drop them when frying)

Kneaded

Pour oil, fry over low heat until the surface turns yellow

Take out of the pot
-
