  1. Soak the glutinous rice in warm water for half an hour, until you can cut off the rice's water absorption by pinching it with your fingernails

  2. One piece of glutinous rice (remember to pick glutinous rice with knots at both ends, that is, glutinous rice with no holes visible at both ends, otherwise it will leak). Peel the glutinous rice, cut one end about two fingers apart, stuff the glutinous rice into the hole of the lotus root with chopsticks, and stuff it tightly with chopsticks.

  3. Remember to stuff a small amount of glutinous rice into the lotus root cover, and then use toothpicks to connect the lotus root cover and lotus root body.

  4. Put it into a pressure cooker until the water just covers the lotus roots. Add brown sugar, dried osmanthus (you can leave it out if you don’t have it), and two red dates. Put the pressure cooker on steam and cook for 30 minutes

  6. Take out the glutinous rice lotus roots and keep a bowl of brown sugar water in the pressure cooker for later use (you can also keep the brown sugar water and drink it directly, which is good for your health)

  7. Dip a knife into water and slice the glutinous rice lotus roots. Mix some of the brown sugar water and osmanthus honey (you can also use honey directly) and pour it on top of the glutinous rice lotus roots. It's a finished product!
