Overview
Tianjin people, who live at the lower end of Jiuhe River, are famous for their love of food, so they have the title of Wei Zuizi. Tianjin’s food is indeed very different from other cities. Take the breakfast at the beginning of the day as an example, it has a unique flavor. Pancake dumplings have a long history and are the most famous, classic and delicious snacks for citizens in Tianjin. Pancake dumplings are an indispensable part of Tianjin people’s breakfast. They are composed of mung bean flour pancakes, eggs, and fried dough sticks or crispy fruit grates. It is served with flour sauce, minced green onions, and chili sauce (optional) as condiments. It tastes salty and fragrant. As a breakfast, it not only relieves satiety, but also provides sufficient nutrition. Today's pancakes are not limited to pancakes made from mung bean noodles, but there are also soybean noodles, black bean noodles and many other options. For breakfast today, I prepared a pancake dumpling (fried dough stick version) with a bowl of soy milk to experience the charm of Tianjin cuisine.
