Simple Homemade Yogurt

Simple Homemade Yogurt

Overview

My family and I like to drink yogurt very much. The yogurt outside is too thin and contains a lot of additives. Since I bought a bread machine, I have been making yogurt at home. No matter how I make it, it tastes better than the yogurt outside. A bit like the yogurt I drank when I was a kid

  1. The raw materials are simple, and the method is also very simple, including a bag of yogurt powder, three and a half bottles of fresh milk (the remaining half of the bottle was not photographed), sugar and cream (you can omit it if you don’t have it, just add 1kg of fresh yogurt). The one with cream has a more mellow taste, and the one without cream is refreshing, both are delicious.

  2. First, disinfect the tools you use. The simplest thing is to scald it several times with boiling water. If you have a disinfection cabinet at home, you can use a disinfection cabinet. Mix 900g of milk and 100g of cream, then add 40g of sugar. If the sugar doesn't melt, you can put a basin of hot water underneath. Add more sugar. Or it won't be sour. Take away the hot water basin, wait for the milk to cool slightly, add the bacterial powder and stir evenly.

  3. Pour it into the bread machine bucket. My bread machine is not very big. So if you fill it first and put it in the bread machine, it won’t fit. So I did everything before filling, so as not to affect the shape of the yogurt very much. I put it in the bread machine and selected the yogurt function. My bread machine takes 8 hours. I have also seen on forums using the fermentation function of the oven to make yogurt, and it was also very successful.

  4. When you want to eat it, take it out and mix it with various fruit jams or honey. It is a good choice. I mixed it with homemade strawberry jam. I wanted to try thinner yogurt this time, but I took it out after seven hours. You can fill it in a pudding bottle and put it in the refrigerator, which is quite a compliment.

  5. Because I wanted to try thin yogurt, I didn't ferment it for that long, and it was much thicker than the ones bought outside. If you want to drink old yogurt, you can let it ferment for 8 hours. It will be semi-solidified when you take it out.

  6. Isn’t this kind of breakfast or afternoon tea very tempting? If you don’t want to gain weight, you can also mix it with yogurt and eat it with salad.
