Braised Potato and Meatballs
Overview
It is a very simple braised dish, using fresh small potatoes that have just come off the market. They are about the size of a ping pong ball and are very cute when held in the hand. The meatballs with potatoes were made by my mother-in-law and I. There were guests in my hometown that day, and my mother-in-law wanted to make Sixi meatballs to entertain the guests. The mother-in-law and daughter-in-law made one each, fried one, and finally steamed them. There were quite a lot of them, eight of them. The guests only ate a little more than one. The rest, my mother-in-law packed four for me. These four meatballs were about the same size as a small bowl. My husband and I could only eat half of them at a time. Alas, what we made by ourselves was so honest. This time I specially used braised soy sauce, and the dish was indeed more colorful than the usual dark soy sauce and light soy sauce. Of course, the taste was also more fragrant.
