Steamed Pork Ribs in Pumpkin Cup with Black Bean Flavor
Overview
I played with a pumpkin for Halloween. Hollow out the pumpkin and make a cup, and use it as a container to make this Steamed Spare Ribs with Black Bean Sauce. In this way, the aroma of the pumpkin complements the spare ribs, and the shape and taste are impeccable. It’s really delicious and beautiful. The method is also very simple. The ribs are marinated with soy sauce, cooking wine, oyster sauce, black beans, onions, ginger, salt and other marinades. The pumpkin is divided into two, and the bottom and lid are separated. I specially use this kind of knife to cut into jagged shapes, which are more beautiful, but I want to make a mark to see which side is facing which, otherwise it may not be able to cover it. Then hollow out the pumpkin, fill it with marinated pork ribs, and put it in a steamer to steam for an hour. However, I need to tell you that you must use a deeper container to hold the pumpkin when steaming, because a lot of oil will be released after steaming, and the pumpkin will become soft after steaming. If you hold the pumpkin directly, it may break. Use a deep plate to hold it to protect it. You can also use another method, which is to steam the pumpkin and ribs separately, and then steam them together slightly. This method seems to be better.
