The materials are limited, I just have red beans, rice, and red dates, so I try to make rice pudding, surprise, it tastes the same as the rice pudding sold outside

Steps

  1. Prepare the raw materials, soak half a bowl of rice and half a bowl of red beans overnight (the cooking time is short after soaking), then add 8 red dates (the red dates must be enough to taste like eight-treasure porridge), add some sugar, and other ingredients such as chestnuts and walnuts, add some if you have them, it will taste better.

  2. Add water, bring to a boil over high heat and simmer over low heat for half an hour until thickened. You can add more water at the beginning, visually check 1:5, to prevent it from boiling out. If it is too much, you can increase the fire. Keep the fire from burning the pot, open a slit in the lid for ventilation, and check it every 10-15 minutes.

  3. When the time is up, check the consistency of the porridge. Keep it the same consistency as the eight-treasure porridge, and cook it for two minutes as usual.
