This Potato Braised Pork is super easy. The ingredients are simple and the technique is easy to learn. You can also just make braised pork without adding potatoes. Sweet and salty, it can also be made into braised pork rice!

  1. Cut the pork belly into small pieces according to preference to make the meat cook faster. I cut it into about 1cm pieces. It can be big or small, it just takes a lot of fire.   2. Cut the seasonings and ingredients and set aside. The amount of seasoning can be added or subtracted according to the amount of meat

  3. Ignite. Put some oil in the pan and prepare to fry the sugar color. The rock sugar I used is brighter when fried, but rock sugar does not melt as well as white sugar, so it can be replaced. After adding the sugar, stir with a spatula until the color is even

  4. When all the sugar has melted, stir constantly and the color turns amber, then quickly add the meat and stir-fry. I made the color a little darker for the sake of taking photos.

  5. Add the meat and stir-fry for a few times. When the meat is evenly coated with sugar, add the prepared onions, ginger, garlic and other seasonings and add it to the pot. Then add one spoonful of light soy sauce, one spoonful of dark soy sauce, and half a spoonful of salt. Salt can be increased or decreased according to taste.

  6. After frying until fragrant, add boiling water and simmer. Just enough water to cover the meat. If you are willing to eat it a bit rotten, you can add more water and simmer it for a while.

  7. Cut potatoes into sections, wash and set aside
