Three flavor steamed buns
Overview
Nowadays, I like making steamed buns more and more. Practicing it again and again makes me perfect. I don’t like to make steamed buns that are too big. The small and delicate ones taste good, haha, but the shape of the buns needs more practice. The taste is already good, the red date flavor is my favorite.

Steps
-
Prepare all ingredients
-
Pour the yeast into warm water and let it sit for 10 minutes to melt naturally
-
Wash the red dates, remove the cores, soak them in boiling water for 10 minutes, take them out and dry them, or dry them with kitchen paper
-
Pour both powders into a clean oil-free and water-free basin
-
Slowly pour the melted yeast water into the flour, and use chopsticks to slowly and evenly stir it into a powdery state
-
Knead the flour into a dough by hand, pour the melted lard into the almost kneaded dough, and continue kneading for a few minutes
-
This is the kneaded dough, put it into a clean water-free and oil-free basin, and let it rise for 1 hour
-
Today the room temperature is about 20 degrees. In order to allow the dough to ferment normally in a warm place, I added boiling water to another basin, put the dough basin into it, and covered the pot with a lid. I had to change the boiling water twice in the middle to keep the temperature balanced
-
The weather was relatively hot today and the fermentation was quick. It fermented successfully in one hour. Insert your finger into a hole and it will be fine if it doesn't bounce back. It’s twice as big as before
-
When the proofed dough is poured out, it will look like a honeycomb inside
-
Sprinkle some dry flour on a non-stick cloth, put the risen dough on it to deflate, then roll it into a long strip, divide it into 25g pieces, a total of 30 pieces
-
Roll the dough into small rounds
-
Put red dates on the small round skin. I used jujubes, so I could only place one pill in four portions. Put dates on the small round skin and shape it into a flower. If using jujubes, put 4 per flower.
-
In the middle of the small round wrapper, smear a little bit of jujube paste and shape it into a triangle bag of jujube paste
-
Roll the ingredients into balls and turn them into small round steamed buns
-
All kneaded, arranged, and ready to be steamed
-
Turn on high heat, wait for the water to boil, steam for 20 minutes, then turn off the heat. After turning off the heat, simmer for 5 minutes before opening the pot, take out the steamed buns and eat
-
The nest is out of the pot
