Shaomai

Shaomai

Overview

Every time I order a staple food, I will order siomai, but I always get a little tired of it! Today I had a whim and wanted to try it myself! I bought Chaos Leather because it is thinner! But when I got home, I found that there was no white glutinous rice! There was only red glutinous rice, but after soaking it for two hours from morning to evening, it was still a bit hard! And non-stick! A fly in the ointment! However, the taste is still very reliable, because it contains corn kernels, green beans, mushrooms and lettuce, so it is not so greasy! It tastes great!

Steps

  1. Steam the soaked rice in a steamer! Put the drawer cloth underneath! Spread the rice evenly on top and steam it. Since my rice is red glutinous rice, which is particularly difficult to cook, I steamed it for more than an hour! Cook and chop the shiitake mushrooms into slices, boil the corn kernels and green beans, and add a few slices of lettuce. I have eaten winter bamboo shoot dumplings, so I thought it might be delicious to try adding some of this!

  5. The wrapper I used is Chaos wrapper, and I also bought dumpling wrappers. I think even if I try to thin them out, they are still a bit thick! So I used wonton wrappers! The final effect is okay!
