The taste of my childhood-----Oiled Dumplings
Overview
Oil dumplings are actually glutinous rice strips fried in oil until golden and then coated with a layer of powdered sugar. They are crispy on the outside and glutinous on the inside. They are very delicious. It was rare to have the opportunity to eat it when I was a child. Our home was far away from the market in the town. My mother would go to the town to buy vegetables every day off, and she would bring back two oil dumplings, one for each of my brother and me. She never wanted to part with them. Every time I eat fried dumplings, I feel very happy and satisfied. I even lick the powdered sugar on my hands clean by the end of the meal. Now that my material conditions are better, eating whatever I want is no longer a luxury. On the contrary, I am less happy than I was when I was a child.
