My daughter didn’t like eating meat when she was a child. She always found lean meat to be cumbersome for her teeth. So I chopped the meat and made it into meatballs. Then I wrapped the outside with glutinous rice. After steaming, the glutinous rice was crystal clear and the children loved it!

Soak the glutinous rice in cold water 6 hours in advance.

Peel the pork belly, wash and chop into mince.

Chop lotus root and ginger into small pieces.

Add the minced meat, lotus root and ginger with salt, light soy sauce and starch and stir in one direction.

Shape the minced meat into balls with your hands.

Put the meatballs into the soaked glutinous rice, and roll the meatballs to coat them with the glutinous rice.

Line the cage with oiled paper and place the meatballs in it.

Place the basket into a steamer and steam for 20 minutes.
