Crispy buns
Overview
It seems unreasonable not to do some baking when you have an oven. Just make it simple and let me fall into this sweet whirlpool; instead of using the oven as a decoration. Haha~ The history of owning ovens is indeed not short. The most original one was a trophy from the Christmas carnival in the mall N years ago. I still feel sorry for this oven. In the past ten years, I have only used it to bake sweet potatoes and small fish once. For the second oven, I went straight to the mall and bought it. It is difficult to accurately measure the temperature of the mechanical type, and it does not have a fermentation function and is heated unevenly. The temperature of the upper tube and the temperature of the lower tube are too different each time it is preheated, so the temperature is called inaccurate. It can only be adjusted to an approximate temperature. You often need to use an oven thermometer to re-adjust. The rhythm of tragedy will happen if you are not careful~ Let’s not talk about heartbreak. Let’s start~ Today I used ACA Baked Pu Xiaozhi to make a little steamed bun to comfort the kids. Fortunately, Niu really likes it every time and says it’s delicious and a good-natured child! Little steamed buns are already synonymous with Wangzai. Whenever you mention steamed buns, the classic advertising slogan will ring in your ears. It is so well-known in China that babies who are just learning to talk will hum the advertising slogans. This shows the success of this marketing. This is a snack that children like very much. Now that the girl is so old, she sometimes buys a bag to satisfy her cravings. It is indeed very convenient to buy, but making it yourself has more flavor. The recipe was given by friends in the group, and it was passed down by word of mouth. Ingredients
Steps
-
Prepare 2 egg yolks, beat them into a bowl, soften the butter, add fine sugar, and beat with a whisk.
-
Prepare potato starch, low-gluten flour, baking powder, and milk powder. Mix all ingredients together and sift into a large bowl.
-
Sift in the mixed butter and egg yolk paste.
-
At the beginning, the dough is relatively loose when you knead it with your hands. After kneading it for a while, it will form a ball. If it feels too dry during the kneading process, you can add more eggs. If the dough is too sticky, you can also add some potato starch and knead it evenly.
-
After the dough is kneaded, use a rolling pin to roll it into a piece larger than 0.5CM.
-
Sprinkle potato starch on the cutting board to prevent sticking. First cut the dough into long strips, then cut the long strips into small dices.
-
Place the chopped dices on a cutting board and roll into small pea-like balls. Set aside.
-
Brush a baking sheet with honey. This is requested by the child and can be ignored. The baking pan has a non-stick coating and does not need to be lined with greaseproof paper or oilcloth.
-
Arrange the buns randomly on the baking sheet leaving some space and don't overcrowd them.
-
I used a non-stick baking pan, and added butter in the recipe to completely prevent it from sticking. After baking, the buns fell down easily. No need for oil paper at all. Be careful to leave some space for the small steamed buns, haha, they were not arranged neatly in a hurry. Before entering the oven, spray a layer of water mist on the surface.

Put it into the preheated oven at 175°C, turn the middle rack up and down, and bake for about 10 minutes. Different oven temperatures have their own temperaments. I didn't keep an eye on the first plate, and it cracked and burned. This time I stayed by the oven a few minutes before taking it out of the oven. When the surface of the buns turned golden brown, it was ready to take out. It is normal for the buns to be soft when they are freshly baked, and they will become crispy after cooling.
