【Homemade Nougat】
Overview
This time I made a marshmallow version of nougat because it is simple and quick to make and tastes good. The original marshmallow version of nougat is still a bit too sweet for me. So when making sugar, I added some coffee powder and matcha powder. The milk coffee-flavored nougat is rich and has a bit of burnt bitterness. The matcha flavor is another fresh tea aroma with a slight bitterness. Both flavors can neutralize the original sweetness very well, and they are very delicious!

Have all kinds of materials ready. Roast or fry the nuts in advance. If they have skin, it is best to remove the skin;

Put butter in a non-stick pan and heat over low heat;

After the butter melts, add the marshmallows;

Continue to heat over low heat until the marshmallows melt;

Add milk powder and matcha powder and continue stirring over low heat;

After the ingredients in the pot are completely mixed, add dried fruits and nuts;

Mix well while it's hot, turn off the heat, transfer the mixed nougat to the chopping board while it's still hot, and knead evenly. Here you can use lamination to remove as much air as possible, and then shape it into a rectangular cube;

When completely cooled, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Take it out the next day, let it warm slightly and cut it into pieces for consumption.
