Cured meat and lotus leaf rice for family reunion
Overview
The Spring Festival is next week, and time flies so fast; I remember last year because the air tickets to Kuala Lumpur were very expensive, I went back to Shanghai to celebrate the New Year. Originally, my husband was going to Kuala Lumpur to celebrate the New Year, and I stayed in Kuala Lumpur for a while; in the end, I went back to Shanghai to celebrate the New Year. When I didn’t come to Shanghai before, I didn’t know how the Chinese New Year was celebrated. I always felt that it must be more lively than my hometown. But after coming to Shanghai, I found that the Chinese Lunar New Year is not as lively as I imagined. On the contrary, my husband said that the Lunar New Year in my hometown is more lively than in China. Let me talk about the Lunar New Year in my hometown; in fact, there are lion dances in various places, especially in rural areas where lion dances are performed door-to-door, so it is very lively. Shops, squares, markets, etc. in the city center will also invite lion dance troupes to perform lion dances in various shops, which means business is booming. On the first day of the Lunar New Year in Shanghai, except for a brief lion dance on the pedestrian street, there is no New Year atmosphere in other places; so my husband said this is the Spring Festival in Shanghai. Talking about this [Preserved Rice with Lotus Leaf Rice], in fact, this lotus leaf rice is indispensable in festive banquets, such as weddings or birthday banquets; I specially used soaked rice, fried it and steamed it directly in the pot for an hour, so that the rice can absorb the fragrance of the lotus leaves more. It's okay if you fry the cooked rice and put it in lotus leaves and steam it for fifteen minutes, but I don't think the flavor is that strong. The Chinese New Year is about family reunions and having a lot of fun talking and laughing; we should also make good use of these few days of vacation to spend this Spring Festival with our families.

Steps
-
Dice carrots and sausages and set aside. Mix well with oyster sauce, light soy sauce, honey braised sauce, pepper and sesame oil for seasoning.

Wash the rice and lotus seeds and soak them for two hours. The water must cover the rice. After soaking, pour off the excess water and set aside.
-
Put an appropriate amount of water in the pot and bring to a boil. Rinse the lotus leaves with water and put them into the pot.

Since the sausage is easy to burn, stir-fry it over low heat until it smells fragrant.

After adding the ingredients, stir-fry over medium-low heat for 1 minute.

Add seasonings.
-
Stir fry for five minutes and then turn off the heat.
