Tofu dumplings

Overview

Yesterday I was chatting with a friend who was unhappy. I am worried that I have accomplished nothing and have nothing in the few years since I graduated. There is endless melancholy and anguish between the words. She couldn't help but feel sad when she saw that her friends around her had houses, cars, wives and children, but she still had nothing. My friend is the same age as me and works in a private company. He works from 9 to 5 every day, with weekends off. He occasionally travels and posts travel and food photos. On weekends, he either stays at home or hangs out with a few friends, leading a seemingly bourgeois life in the eyes of others. Many times, we envy those successful people who have a halo around their heads and are supported and respected by many people. Under the dazzling halo, the eyes of countless people focused on envy and admiration. Just like the rare delicacies on the table that can only be enjoyed by a few people, ordinary ingredients such as cabbage and tofu are overshadowed by them. Many times these so-called successes can only make us stand back and envy them. Just like my friend, those in their 20s long for success and fame overnight. But she forgot that life requires the accumulation of time and experience. How could those successful people imagine that they could acquire the wealth accumulated over decades? Every age group has its own troubles and frustrations. In their teens, they are full of energy, but young and lack experience; in their 40s and 50s, they are mature and wise, but they can only recall the beauty of their youth. No matter what stage you are at, don’t live in the regrets and annoyances of the past, nor the worries and fears of the future. It’s all now, live in the moment. No one’s life is smooth sailing, just like every dish on the dining table cannot be filled with delicacies. No matter how good the food is, it will become boring after eating it for a long time. No one’s life is always spectacular. Life is more ordinary and ordinary, just like the radishes and cabbages on the dining table, they are still attractive when they are cooked. Today’s protagonist, tofu dumplings, is an ordinary dish. There is no gorgeous appearance, no special processing method, what you eat is its simple taste, and what you enjoy is this peaceful feeling. The golden and crispy skin is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It is half empty and half solid. It does not lose its flavor when dipped in a saucepan. Just like in the dead of night, a calm and peaceful monologue about life ignites in our hearts.
