Green onion beef buns/celery pork buns

Overview

I am still a newbie in making steamed buns. This is the first time I have made a proper steamed bun. I made everything by myself from mixing the dough to mixing the stuffing and baking the dough. It doesn't seem to be particularly successful, but fortunately the filling tastes super good, which makes up for the lack of dough. It definitely tastes good. The stuffing I prepare is always very sticky and very good. My husband has never understood why I can prepare it so well. I feel ashamed that I don’t even know it. My family thinks it is kept a secret. Haha, my facial hair is not very good. So on this point, everyone must make good use of it.

Steps

  1. Prepare all the ingredients and serve the dough first. 2. Prepare the stuffing. I made two kinds of stuffing, one is beef with green onions and the other is celery and pork. I prefer celery. 3. Pour cooking wine, raw/dark soy sauce, appropriate amount of salt into the meat and stir, then add minced ginger, green onion, enough salt, fresh vegetable juice, a little bit of bun seasoning, etc., stir, remember to stir in one direction, do not stir randomly as it will not stick or taste bad. 4. Now comes the celery. The first order should be the same, then add the celery and steamed bun seasoning in order, and stir in one direction. When you see it is very sticky and then hear a swishing sound, it is almost done.

  2. Wait for the dough to rise well, then knead the dough. Make sure to knead more until it is smooth and has no air holes. Then roll out the dough while it is still rising. Try to make the edges of the dough as thin as possible and thicker in the middle to prevent it from breaking. Because I have two kinds of fillings, I put beans on them to distinguish them, and black beans are also good for the body, so you can eat them with the steamed buns. 6. After placing one layer, place another layer. After the second layer is full, the first layer will wake up almost as well. You can start the pot.

  3. Be sure to put the pot under cold water, so that you can have some time to wake up. After boiling, cook for about 15-18 minutes. It depends on the size of your buns. 15 minutes will be enough for small buns. 8. Remember not to open the lid immediately after turning off the heat. Otherwise, it may not be cooked. You must simmer for another 10 minutes before opening the lid.

  4. It’s ready to eat. Dip it in some hot sauce. People in my family love to eat chili. It’s delicious with a little bit of vinegar. You can pair it with some polenta and it will be even better.
