Chinese style cakes and pasta for Father’s Day
Overview
Chinese pasta has a wide variety of varieties and a long history. It is not only delicious but also rich in connotation. I have loved playing with pasta since I was a child. I feel that the plasticity and stability of flour are much higher than those used in Western-style cakes, and there are no problems such as high sugar, high calories, or difficulty in preservation. My dream is to paint a colorful world with pasta. Record what I appreciate, express what I hope for, and share what I understand. I really hope that one day, I can inherit the essence of Chinese pasta culture, incorporate trendy and fashionable elements, use pasta expression techniques to make various beautiful Chinese cakes, and turn pasta culture into an edible art. On the occasion of Father's Day, I specially made a Chinese-style cake full of love to share with everyone.

Prepare ingredients. Ordinary flour: 500g, yeast: 4g, aluminum-free baking powder: 1g
-
Prepare ingredients. Jujube: appropriate amount. After washing, put it into cold water and start cooking. After the water boils, immediately remove the water and drain it. Don’t cook it too high, and steam it later to avoid overcooking.
-
Prepare ingredients. Red yeast rice powder: appropriate amount; cocoa powder: appropriate amount; matcha powder: appropriate amount, food coloring: appropriate amount
-
Mix the yeast and baking powder into the flour, stir evenly, add an appropriate amount of warm water, and start the dough kneading function of the bread machine.
-
After the bread machine mixes the flour into a smooth dough, take out most of the original dough, cover it with plastic wrap, and ferment in a warm place. You can also use a bread machine or oven to ferment, which is more convenient.
-
Leave a small portion of the original color dough according to preference and need, and use cocoa powder, matcha powder, and red yeast powder to form three-color dough. Place the three-color dough in separate containers to ferment.
-
When the dough has fermented to 1.5 to 2 times its original size, you can add the ingredients. Take an appropriate amount of dough and cut it into small pieces to make the edges, not too big.
-
Cut the mixture into small strips.
-
Take a jujube and wrap the rolled noodles around the jujube placed vertically.
-
Pinch the ends of the noodles to form a drop shape. Pinch out a few of these shapes as spare edges.
-
Take a piece of dough and use a rolling pin to roll it out into a rectangular shape as the base. The thickness should be moderate but not too thin.
-
Make a circle according to the curvature of the base.
-
The center of the circle is filled with jujubes.
-
Roll out another dough piece and cover the area covered with jujubes in the center of the circle.
-
Spread another dough piece larger than step 14 as the top cover.
-
Take a small piece of pink dough and roll it into a thin sheet to make a quilt shape.
-
Take two small pieces of white dough and make two pillow shapes. You can add some embellishments to your quilt and pillows as you like.
-
Striped fabric for character clothing. According to your preference, take any two doughs of different colors and roll them into a square shape, overlapping the two colors one by one.
-
The effect when viewed from the side. Cut the colored dough sheet into the size you need.
-
Turn the side where you can see the colored strips upward and roll it into a striped dough.
-
Use white dough to make a face, pink dough to make a T-shirt for the character’s father, and striped dough to make pajamas. Then use white dough to make the arms and feet respectively, and use brown dough to make the character's hair and beard. Fix the completed character shape in the corresponding position.
-
Use the techniques just mentioned to create the shape of the character’s daughter. Please control the size ratio between your daughter and her father. After everything is fixed, secondary fermentation is carried out. Observe that the volume has increased and the surface of the dough is fluffy and rising. Steam it in a pot and cook it for 25 minutes. Please increase or decrease the steaming time according to the size. When mature, use food coloring pens to draw eyes, red cheeks and small mouth according to personal preference.

When I was young, I thought my father was the tallest person in the world, but every time I slept with him, he would be forced to the corner of the bed by me, and he would not forget to tuck me in in the middle of the night.
