【Nanjing】Shepherd's Purse and Pork Wontons
Overview
The New Year is coming, and people love to seek good fortune. Even the names of the dishes are chosen according to different varieties, which are either homophonic or pictographic; for example: rice cakes - meaning promotion every year, shepherd's purse - meaning wealth accumulation, bean sprouts - pictographic wishful dishes, etc.; all have one purpose - I wish the whole family all the best in the New Year! In addition, there is a big weird thing in Nanjing~ He doesn’t like meat dishes, but he loves wild vegetables! The green reedgrass, watery chrysanthemum brains, bitter Malantou, wild shepherd's purse, etc. are all loved by old Nanjing people; even the new Nanjing people who later came to Ning to settle down also fell in love with these spring wild vegetables! On Saturday, I was invited by a practitioner to visit her farm on the outskirts of the city! Because I didn’t know other students’ friends, they went fishing and chatted together, while I went for a walk around the farm; I walked past the puppy house, passed by the chicken farm, and ran to the chicken farm when the puppies came out to let out the wind. I clearly understood the origin of chickens flying and dogs jumping around; then I came to the edge of a field and saw many green vegetables. I felt that spring was really coming soon! After getting permission from the owner, I followed an old lady and learned to dig wild vegetables. Before I knew it, 2 or 3 hours had passed. Then I saw that the plastic bag at my feet was already full of fragrant and fat wild shepherd's purse. When I stopped, I felt very tired and couldn't straighten my waist, but I felt so accomplished~~~ I woke up early the next day and started working: first, I rolled out the dough and rolled out the wonton wrappers, then washed the vegetables, cut the meat, and prepared the fillings. Thanks to the help of the ACA chef machine (a prize in the 2016 ACA Baking Competition), it was really much easier. Haha: maybe I made the fillings myself, and it felt much tastier than those sold in snack bars~~~ Thank you Gourmet World! Feel ACA North American Electrical Appliances! Thank you to those who have always supported me!
