  1. Cut the tofu into cubes and blanch it in a pot of boiling water to remove the beany smell and make the tofu more tender

  2. Drain the blanched tofu and set aside

  3. Heat oil in a pan, sauté onion, ginger and aniseed

  4. Add 1 tablespoon light soy sauce and 1 teaspoon sugar

  5. Add chili powder

  6. Add half a bowl of water

  8. Cook for two or three minutes and add the dried shrimps

  9. When the soup is reduced and there is not much left, add minced garlic
