It is precisely because of the unique geographical environment and climatic conditions that Rongcheng figs are large in size, good in quality and rich in flavor, and are known as the best figs in China. According to the "Shen Nong's Materia Medica", figs are sweet and mild in nature and have no toxic or side effects. They have the functions of nourishing, moisturizing the intestines, appetizing, promoting lactation, clearing away heat, anti-inflammatory, stopping dysentery, treating sore throat, wheezing and coughing, and hemorrhoids. Rongcheng figs are rich in fructose and glucose, with a content between 15% and 22%, twice as much as many other fruits. They contain a variety of vitamins and more than 30 kinds of lipid substances, which have significant effects on fighting leukemia, treating heart disease, liver disease, hypertension, restoring physical strength and eliminating fatigue. They are called the Queen of Fruits and the Fruit of Life. The selenium content of Rongcheng figs is 100 times that of edible fungi and 400 times that of garlic. Japanese scientists extracted benzyl ester, bergamot, psoralen and other anti-cancer substances from Rongcheng fig juice. They have obvious inhibitory effects on cancer cells, especially gastric cancer. They are known as the patron saint of human health in the 21st century. Dried figs are generally used for retail consumption, but many friends don’t know that using them to make soup can best express the essence of figs. The dry matter content of figs is very high, 14-20% for fresh fruits and more than 70% for dried fruits.
